Cherokee Nation

In the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains, where the ancient spirits whisper through the rustling leaves, the Cherokee People gather to celebrate Thanksgiving in a time-honored tradition that connects them to their ancestors and the bountiful lands they call home. As the crisp autumn air carries the scent of roasting turkey and sweet potato pie, families and friends come together around a table decorated with colorful woven blankets, handcrafted pottery, and intricate beadwork where a feast fit for a chief awaits. They offer prayers of gratitude to the Creator for the abundance of the harvest and the blessings bestowed upon their people. As the sun sets behind the majestic mountains, casting a golden glow over the village, the aroma of cedar and sage lingers in the air, cleansing the spirits and bringing a sense of peace and harmony to all who are gathered. And in that moment, under the watchful gaze of the stars, the Cherokee People give thanks for the past, celebrate the present, and look forward to the future with hope and gratitude in their hearts.
