Concrete jungles are nice for a visit when artificial lights illuminate the night, especially during Christmas with many different colors of reds, greens, blues and whites twinkling all around you; city lights have their own special magic. But, there’s something much more magical about Christmas in a small town where the pace is slower and quieter. Most of the tourists have gone home for the winter, leaving the beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains to the locals, visiting families, and couples seeking a romantic getaway at Christmas–after all, Hallmark movies love a small town romance centered around the holidays. Let Carolina Outfitters show you all the things to experience for Christmas in the Smokies near the Nantahala River and Bryson City, North Carolina. There is something for everyone.

Please check with each event to see if it’s still a go after Hurricane Helene moved through the mountains. Swain County was not hit as hard, so we are functioning pretty normal at this time, but still check to be sure!
